Sacred Grove Conservation Programme
MCMAT has joined the Kerala Forest Department in the ‘Sacred Grove
Conservation Campaign Programme’ as part of the College’s greening initiatives.
All the MCMATians attended the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Sacred Grove
Conservation Campaign’ launched by the Kerala Forest Department. This was at
‘Iringole Kavu’ near Perumbavoor on 23rd April, 2010.

Campaign Introduction was by Dr. B.S. Corrie, IFS, CCF, Member of the
Professional Advisory Board of MCMAT.
The Principal Chief Forest Conservator, Sri. T. M. Manoharan IFS, welcomed the
gathering.
As an ecological awareness programme and to make the students involved in the
‘Green Campaign’, MCMATians implemented ‘Greening Activity’ in the campus.
As part of the programme, saplings of the trees and medicinal plants such as
Thambakam, Raktha Chandanam, Kanikonna and Mahogany were planted in the campus
on April 28th, 2010. All the students, faculty and staff of the College
participated in the programme by planting one plant for one MCMATian.
