| Seminar Objective: The advent of the Internet and Globalism provides many opportunities for
entrepreneurs. But this also means that you now have to compete with the whole
world, not just your neighbors as in the good old days. Proper planning,
preparation, and establishment of proper controls are absolutely essential.
This information-rich seminar will provide you with practical
aspects of entrepreneurism. You will hear from top executives who have been
there and done it. They will show you how they have used and how the management tools
are used in the real world for fast tracking your business.
The format of the seminar is optimized for learning. The seminar leader will
provide outline of important principles of each unit. This will be then
supplemented by real entrepreneurs explaining how they have done it, problems
they faced, and how they solved them. There will be
ample opportunities to ask questions, and to interact with other participants, and to
network. So, at the end of the seminar, you will be walking away with important
information as well as a list of possible mentors or collaborators for your own

| Dr. Rajan Varughese, Director, MCMAT
Dr. Rajan Varughese, Principal and Director, Marthoma College of
Management and Technology, Perumbavoor is a Ph.D., in Statistics
from the Cochin University of Science and Technology. He was
Principal of the Union Christian College, Aluva during 1995 – 2000
and of the Mar Thoma College for Women, Perumbavoor during
2000-2003. He has Certification in Transactional Analysis from the
Institute of Counseling and Transactional Analysis (ICTA).
Dr. Varughese taught Statistics, Computer Programming and
Management Information System at the U.C.College for over three
decades and held the rank of Major in NCC. He initiated several
innovative programmes in academic and co-curricular areas,
especially in areas of Information Technology, Environmental
Science, Ecology and conservation. He was a member of the Syndicate
and Academic Council of the Mahatma Gandhi University.
Rajan is a resource person for the Kerala State Forest Department
in developing wildlife survey methodologies. He successfully
completed several wildlife survey projects. He has designed and
implemented software solutions for educational administration,
library automation and wildlife census data processing. He has
published papers in Queueing theory, Statistical Ecology, estimation
of wildlife population of tigers and Nilgiri Tahr, wildlife survey
methodology, human resources development and Higher Education. He is
the recipient of the award instituted for the commendable
contribution to academic and residential life of the U. C. College
during 1977-1982 and the Dr. P. S. Job Memorial award at the
national level for his contributions through the Nature Action
Group.
Dr. Rajan Varughese is an Assessor and Member Coordinator of the
National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the UGC. He
has assessed over 60 colleges in the States of Tamil Nadu,
Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Jharghant, Orissa, Goa and
Gujarat. He is also a resource person for NAAC for orientation of
Principals and other functionaries on assessment and accreditation.
He gave leadership in the NAAC assessment and accreditation process
of the U.C.College in 1999 which became the first ‘five star’ rated
college of Kerala State and of the Mar Thoma College for Women in
2002.
He visited several Colleges and a University in United States
during March, 2000 and established several international linkages
for Union Christian College. He is a trainer for Human Resources
Development with specialization in ‘attitudes, motivation and
accomplishment’. Dr. Rajan Varughese was selected for the award of
Fulbright Fellowship for Educational Administration by the United
States Education Foundation in India for 2000-2001.

Dr. Jacob Mathew is the President of International Cyber Business
Services, Inc. (www.icbs.com) a web development firm he has founded
in 1995. He is internationally known for founding of
holisticonline.com, a website for health that now receives over
8 million hits/month from over 170 countries. It is now ranked as
one of the top 5 websites for integrative medicine (health). In
November 2004, Google, Inc. has invited ICBS to enter into a
business partnership with it, a rare honor extended to only the very
best companies.
Specialgifts.com, latest venture of
Dr. Mathew, is an ecommerce venture for selling products on line.
Specialgifts.com, online for less than two years, has already
established as a niche portal for selling gifts that are in harmony
with the mind, body, and soul. It has already attracted customers
from all continents. It was recently featured in the TV program,
“Living in Style”, a program that was seen by over 70 million
viewers.
Other ventures of Dr. Mathew include Inspiracom BioTech, a start
up company that explores opportunities in Biotechnology and
Healthcare.

exclusive online directory of selected integrative practitioners..
Dr. Mathew had been featured in media in USA, India, UK,
Australia and New Zealand. He has appeared in Gary Null Radio Show,
a syndicated radio program that is carried on over 100 radio
stations throughout the US and on the web, Cleveland Business Radio,
and was invited by late Casper Weinberger, Chairman of Forbes
Magazine, to appear in a TV program on eCommerce.
Dr. Mathew is a 1971 graduate of IIT (Indian Institute of
Technology) Kharagpur where he graduated at the top of the class. He
obtained his advanced degree in Engineering from University of
Pittsburgh and EMBA from Baldwin Wallace College. At University of
Pittsburgh, he was honored as the “Outstanding Graduate Student.”
Dr. Mathew serves in several boards including the Academic
Advisory Council of MCMAT. |

Indore Dr. John M. Chacko is the Chairman and Managing
Director, Laurels Group of Institutions, Indore.
Dr. Chacko was GM of Johnson & Johnson and has moved in to his
entrepreneur activities and has developed the best ICSE school at
Indore. He is a consultant for HR and strategic planning in HR for
top level managers of important public sector banks.
Dr. Chacko is a member of the Academic Advisory Board and
Professional Advisory Board of MCMAT. Recently he has given a one
day seminar for the I MBA batch at MCMAT that was well received by
the students. We thank Dr. Chacko for making the trip from Indore to
participate in this seminar. |
