MCMAT was established in 2005 by MTEA as a full-fledged business school. The first MBA batch started in 2006. MCMAT offers MBA program affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, recognized by the Government of Kerala and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The two year MBA program is conducted in four semesters and offers a wide range of specializations. (Our mission and vision)

  MCMAT strives to provide a well-rounded education program to its students. In addition to class room training, students are exposed to seminars and workshops on a wide variety of subjects conducted by internationally known leaders. (see our events section for details of recent seminars and workshops). MCMAT students and faculty also participate in activities outside MCMAT. The college also draws on the strengths and expertise of a team of experts in its advisory committees.

Professional Activities of MCMAT Faculty

The Management Fest - 2007

MCMAT conducted its first Management Fest - Fratres ’07 on 4th and 5th December, 2007. 119 students from 14 Business Schools participated in different events.

Rev. Dr. Johnson P Mathew, General Secretary, MTEA Society blessed the function with his speech. Mr. T.T. Thomas, Former CMD of FACT and Member of Governors, IIM, Kozhikode gave the presidential address. Mr. T Damu, Vice President, Corporate affairs, Indian Hotels inaugurated the function. Mr. P.T. Nandakumar IAS, Managing Director, Kerala Financial Corporation delivered the keynote address. Mr. George Thomas, Treasurer, MCMAT and Prof. P.A. Habeeb Rahiman, HOD, Management facilitated the function. More details.

Academic Council Meeting

The Academic Advisory Council of the college met at MCMAT on September 26. The council has decided to hold its meetings as and when our overseas members visit India. Several important suggestions to improve the functioning of the Management Education in MCMAT were given. Prof. Abraham Koshy, IIM, Ahmedabad, Mr. T. T. Thomas, former CMD, FACT and Mr.T.Damu, Sr. Vice President, India Hotels, Southern Region were among the members attending the meeting.

Seminars and Workshops

Prof. Abraham Koshy, IIM, Ahmedabad led a Seminar on "New paradigms in Marketing". Prof. Simon George, TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal (TAPMI) conducted a Workshop on using Case Studies as a teaching methodology for Management Education on 22nd September, 2007. Other recent seminars include Anil Kumar, GM, BHEL on "Lessons on Excellence in Management", P. R Chandra Mohan, Director of Training center, Co-Operative Bank, Ernakulam on "Leadership & Personality Development." Prakash Chandy, CMD, Beacons, Bangalore conducted a Placement Workshop on September 13, 2007.

Visit of Inspection Team of M. G University

Recently, an inspection team from MG University visited MCMAT. The team consisted of Prof. Sreeraaganadhan , Director School of Management and Business Studies, M. G University & Member of Syndicate and Prof. K. Mathew, Baselious College Kottayam & Member of Syndicate.

Futuristic Seminar Held at MCMAT: INDIA – 60 YEARS AHEAD
On August 14, 2007, the eve of India's 60th Independence, MCMAT presented a futuristic seminar. This program challenged the participants to take a look at what is ahead in the next 60 years.
The program was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Fathima Beebi, Chairperson, Muncipal Council, Perumbavoor.
Prof. Dr. K. K. George, Chairman, CES, and Former Director of SMS, CUSAT, and Advisor to Kerala State Planning Board presided at the program. Mr. P. C. Chacko, Former MP, also made a presentation at the program.

Classes for the MBA (2007admissions) started on June 18, 2007.

The Orientation program for incoming MBA class was conducted from 18th June 2007 to 30th June 2007. This year, we have redesigned the entire orientation program into a program called HOPES - Highly Oriented Pre-Determined Executive Search. The objective of HOPES was to provide the new management aspirants with the information and tools needed to develop them into successful executives. More Details.

MCMAT celebrated the First Annual Day on July 2, 2007. Chief Guest Mr. R. Radhakrishnan (DGM, Indian Bank, Ernakulam Circle) inaugurated the “New Venture”, “MCMAT Centre For Incubation, Innovation And Enterprise.” More Details

MCMAT Students Bag Prizes
MCMAT Team consisting of Mr. Prasanth T Raju and Mr. Samuel T John won second prize in the Inter Collegiate Quiz Competition conducted by M.E.S College, Marampally on 12th July 2007.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Irenaeus Saffragan Metropolitan Elevated to HG Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Marthoma Metropolitan

On October 2, 2007 our manager Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Irenaeus Saffragan Metropolitan was elevated to the position as His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Marthoma Metropolitan. HG Joseph Marthoma continues as our Manager and also as the President of the Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association (MTEA). Our congratulations to HG for this great accomplishment. We also express thanks to the Valiya Metroplitan His Grace Philipose Mar Chrisostom who was the Patron of MCMAT until he retired from his position on 1st October, 2007.

Our Second MBA Batch Started in June 2007

Classes for the MBA (2007admissions) started on June 18, 2007.

Our First MBA Batch Started in July 2006

Classes for our first batch began on Monday, 17 July, 2006.

The Orientation for the MBA students began on Monday, 17 July, 2006. Leaders for the orientation sessions.

Opening Prayer and Meditation was given by Rev. Johnson Varghese, Chaplain of the College.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Irenaeus Saffragan Metropolitan, Manager of the College and President of the MTEA and Rev. Dr. Johnson P. Mathew, General Secretary of MTEA addressed the staff and students on 25 July, 2006.
